The Nebraska Czechs of York provide a $300 scholarship every year to a senior in high school. Selection is based on academic achievement, community involvement, participation in school and extra-curricular activities, employment history, leadership skills and involvement in keeping the Czech heritage alive.

Jean Lamp, left, and JoAnn Kuester presented the 2015 Nebraska Czechs of York $300 Scholarship to Josie Lee. Josie is the daughter of Rose and J.B. Suddarth of York. She plans to major in Animal Science in the Pre-Veterinary Program at Iowa State University.
Alex Johnathon Maresh, son of Galen and Lee Ann Maresh of York, received the 2014 Nebraska Czechs of York Scholarship for $300 from President JoAnn Kuester and Scholarship Chairman, Jean Lamp. Alex graduated from York High School and plans to attend UNL working for a degree in Biosystems Engineering.
Emilie Rose Turek from York received the 2013 NE Czechs of York Scholarship for $300 from Jean Lamp, Scholarship chairman and JoAnn Kuester, club president. She also accepted some Czech rosettes from Jean Lamp. Emilie Rose plans to attend UNL and study to be a veterinarian. Her parents are Robert and Shanna Turek of York.
